Decorating box room/nursery help

I am expecting my second baby in April and my box room needs some serious work before he/she arrives.

My initial thoughts were pale grey soft 'fluffy' carpet (which we've just ordered), with pale grey walls and then a moon and stars theme. I know grey tends to me over done these days but it would be the only grey room in our house (sort of).

However I have found the below wardrobe I want to get for the room in cream and not sure it will go with grey? It is available in grey but then I think for such a small room it might be a bit too grey. Also the baby will be having my LGs cot which is cream so the cot and wardrobe would match if I got the cream.

So my question is... shall I call carpet company and change the colour of the carpet to cream? I already have a cream carpet on order for my LGs room being fitted for the same day so would be easy enough to do.

The image of the carpet below isn't the exact one we are getting this is just the closest I could find.

That looks quite a cold grey, I wouldn’t wish it to be honest, but everyone’s taste is different.

People will come and tell you cream is not practical but I’ve no issue with it and have it both on the stairs and throughout upstairs. It makes the space bigger and lighter and I think looks lovely in a child’s room.

It’s also easier to change the colour of the walls with cream carpet, as with grey you’re limited.
