How to paint a wall 3/4 up?

Just that really, how do I paint a wall 3/4 up, like this picture, ensuring I get a straight line? I know to use masking tape but there’s no dado rail or anything to go by. Do I just measure from the top of the ceiling & mark down going across?

Have you got a spirit level? And a plank or something else long and straight?

I'd probably mark 3 or 4 spots from the ceiling down but use a spirit level on the masking tape to check its level.

I did this recently and used a metre long spirit level to get the line level

Thanks for the replies. Yes we have a spirit level, I know we have a smallish one & I’m sure we have a bigger one. I only intend to do one wall, a light grey in dd’s bedroom the other walls are white, do you think it will look ok on one wall?
