Would you get bored with brightly coloured furniture?

I'm moving house next month and fantasising about how I'll decorate it. Over time I would like to buy good quality furniture that will last and that I won't get bored of.

I'm thinking of keeping the walls light and neutral throughout although I do love colour too.

Anyone that has bought brightly coloured furniture like sofas, beds etc, do you regret it as you stuck with a particular colour scheme or has it given your room the pop your were after?

Undecided as to whether I should buy coloured furniture or just bring in colour with accessories (i want something wow so would coloured accessories be a bit boring?)

TIA

A friend bought a coloured leather sofa. Hated it after a year and couldn’t afford to replace it.

I just panicked and deleted the colourful curtains in my basket because they cost a fortune and was worried I’d go off them lol

No, I get more colourful as the years go on and I love it! This is my living room - sofa is nearly six years old, added the curtains about 18 months ago. A properly colourful rug is next on the list :)

It might be easier/cheaper to paint walls a “proper colour” and have neutral furniture, flooring, etc. Because you’ll need to repaint more often than you’ll need to replace furniture, and paint is cheaper than sofas!

I've always said buy neutrals of the expensive items (sofas, made to measure blinds /curtains) then use wall colour or accessories that can easily be changed to add colour.

But, about a year ago, whilst decorating the sitting room, stopped myself from buying a plain sofa and went for a bold colour. I love it and I really love sitting on it and looking at the rest of the room. Makes me happy.

I might not like it in a few years but sometimes you have to go with it even if it's not the most sensible option!

We have two very bright orange chairs in an otherwise very neutral living room. No regrets.

@Yohoheaveho thank you! Was my one indulgence when I bought my house and I love it so much 😍

I was thinking about a coloured bed frame and sofas but I think I'm going to keep the bed neutral and go for a bold sofa like one in the photos (eventually though as my mum has said i can have her sofas when her new ones arrive and they're cream 😂)
