Ways to have candles and lights still up after Christmas

I know mumsnet sort of sneers at 'twinkly' lights but having plenty of lights and candles as part of our Christmas decorations has made our home feel so cosy.

I'm trying to find ways of keeping this going after I've packed our Christmas decorations away.

Has anyone any good ideas as to how to do this? Any brands of lights or candle arrangements that aren't too Christmassy looking and will take us on towards spring?

Four years ago at this time I was sad at the idea of losing the Christmas tree lights.

Ever since then we have a very long string of white, twinkling (not flashing) lights on white wire hanging vertically, in long loops from a hook at ceiling height in an otherwise unlit corner of our living room.

It takes the place of a standard lamp and looks lovely!

This thread has inspired me to get a neon sign for the wall from Etsy - thanks!

I've gone for a pink & blue planet like James Welsh has in the back of his videos.

This thread has inspired me to leave my fairy lights up this year. I've got some on the kitchen windowsill and some draped around the fireplace. Oh and some tiny ones woven into some faux flowers on the mantelpiece. They are all staying put.

My inglenook lights ate up all year. I just change them from Christmas ones to not Christmas ones. Kitchen ones are up all year. Bought in Aldi.?

Well the news of another lockdownI'm going to leave my artificial twig Christmas tree up and hang a load of Valentines shite on it! I can't bear to take it down! 🤣

Well that's bought me until the 15th February until I have to take it down!
Maybe I can add eggs & bunnies after that!

I’ve got one of those @Isolatedizzy. I’ve defrocked it after Christmas, but have left it in situ just twinkling away like a winter tree. I thought it was quite apt for this time of year.

However, I may make some stuff for Valentine’s Day or Easter. It’s a great idea!

Our neighbours have those led strip lights up in their living room - what about something like that? Mood lighting round the telly or those big led candles?

I have a string of lights around the mirror, which is over the mantle piece. They stay up all year.
The other thing you can do is a string of lights in a big vase.

I have a jute string with lights in on my mantle from Cox & Cox and glass dome with C&C lights inside (dome was from Lisa Angel)
