We live in a Victorian house with a decent sized hallway. Currently the floor is wood. And the stairs have a striped carpet.
I was fancying tiles til I spoke to my friend who says she has to mop hers daily!! I hoover ours several times a week but mop is once per week at most. There are four of us and a dog here.
I'd love your views if you have once and also what carpet? I like the stripes we currently have but think it could be too much with patterned tiles

My parents had tiles (original) and they seldom got mopped!

I guess really it depends on the colours you choose : tiles with a lot of pale or white will look dirtier more quickly.

Not Victorian but we do have a tiled hall. It depends on the weather, if it's raining, every other day at least. If it's dry outside you can get away with once a week.
