To paint a bedroom emerald green or not?

Our master bedroom is west facing and not very big...11ft by 8 and a half ft. I would absolutely love to paint the walls a really bold emerald green but I don't know if this would make the room just too dark. My other idea is to paint the walls pink (a not too girly pink to appease DH) and go for dark green bedding.

Has anyone gone for darker walls in a small room?

@Mumisnotmyonlyname funnily enough I was looking at Farrow and Ball setting plaster and also sulking room pink but that's a bit darker from what I remember.

One of my pink rooms is setting plaster and it’s my favourite. It glows. Lovely with greens too.

Red earth looks nice with setting plaster, in small amounts.

Our bedroom walls are f&b Calamine with a big arch painted behind the headboard in Dulux Woodland Fern 1. I love it.

I've seen a lot of Dusky pink with Emerald Green lately and it looks lovely! How about one wall emerald green and the other pink?

I had this colour scheme in 1992 😄

Walls were 'giddy miss'

Gloss was a lovely dusky green

Ah those days!

I have Graham & Brown Glasshouse in our bedroom that we mostly use as a chill out/gaming/movie room. I absolutely love it and it’s good quality paint too.

I love deep, bold colours though.

I love tattiepants room.
I think dark green really works in a bedroom as I think it creates a cosy and calming space. I would also paint the ceiling the same colour too and maybe slightly darker even on the skirting. Just make sure you have really good lighting or you might not find anything!

That is a gorgeous colour! Have you got it in the whole room, or have you paired it with another colour?

No, not in a 1980s.
In an Edwardian / victorian with high ceilings and pretty features definitely yes.

@Ilovefluffysheep we have the whole room painted in that colour, with gold highlights (I.e. radiator cover). I really like it, the room is so cosy.

Well, I've just ordered a colour match in Johnstone's of Dulux Emerald Glade. It's too go with a tropical leaf wallpaper which we're having on one wall in the spare room. Wanted something a bit different and not grey!

Only the hall stairs and landing, old study and new dining room to decide on now!!
