How to pull room together - with diagram

How would you arrange / rearrange / replace furniture in this room?

I think I want two chairs where the single one is and more pulled into the room. And a rug.

Is a corner sofa an option? I would have a big squishy one where the big and small sofas are, a rug with a coffee table in the middle, then a cuddle chair and foot stool where your original chair is

Pp plan sounds great - it feels like everything needs to be closer to and more centred around the fireplace. I'm not sure about two chairs where the current one is. If you need two together then maybe swap them in with the small sofa instead of getting a corner sofa?

Do you feel you have enough seating already? If you do I'm not sure you need another chair but a footstool for the one you have would be nice, as Nixson29 says.

Definitely get a rug, big enough for at the very minimum the front legs of all your furniture to sit on it. Pull the furniture in from the walls a bit. The main issue seems to be everything is too spread out around the room.

A round or oval coffee table would work if you don't fancy the usual rectangle, and give you an anchor in the middle of the room. Also try angling your armchair more into the room too rather than having it facing straight ahead.

There's definitely enough seating! We did have the chair angled but it was hard to get to a lamp on the shelves.

It's a big room and I think we've got used to having a big space in the middle.

I'm thinking about a padded ottoman type thing.
