Hello, we've recently decorated our front room and can't decide on what style of prints to get for on the walls. We've got beige walls, charcoal tiles on fireplace, charcoal curtains. The light fitting, door handles and fire surround are black. Sofas are also a charcoal/black colour.

Husband thinks black and white pictures I'm thinking we need colour. We also can't decide what to get the pictures of.

Any inspiration/ ideas welcome!

Thanks :)

Sounds like a fab room, got any pics? Love seeing people’s decor esp dark!

I’ve got a gallery wall going on in my front room, it’s music themed and I’m massively into rock, dark moody vibes, also neon so all my prints are themed around that. Think Rolling Stones tongue, leopard print, guitars etc I get most of my stuff from either punkhaus or ink and drop, both online retailers. They’re also both on Instagram.

Original art. You have very neutral colours so you can try any bold art to bring colour. Monochrome decor is very tiring especially if it’s lacking texture and light.
Try places like Riseart or exhibitions and get some original art or even find pictures you like and ask to buy a copy to have it print.
But if you go for picture make sure your frame has decent glass. Most are plastic now and look very cheap.
Also, pay attention at the size of your wall and art too. Too small in a large wall or big art and not enough space to sit back and admire it.

Completely agree with glass frames rather than plastic. It looks so nasty and loads of retailers seem to have adopted it. Annoying.

I also would go for some colour. But not a theme as such but more a range of colours.
