Having had the loft converted are having the bannisters replaced (see photo) The posts top and bottom are painted white. They have put in the new bannisters and spindles and I cant bear the thought of painting it! Obviously because of the time, but also because its really lovely light wood. Ive seen lots of staircases with just the bannister left wood and all the spindles etc painted, but has anyone got part of it painted but the spindles and bannister left as wood? Would that look too weird?
