Christmas tablecloth cotton or linen?

I am looking for a nice tablecloth for Christmas was thinking about bottle green cotton but yet to find one I like.

The alternative is beige linen from H&M which seems to be the "in thing" but I am not sure if it is too scruffy looking and will annoy me that it looks like it needs ironing and is beige too boring for Christmas.

What are your thoughts?

It will definitely need ironing and if you don’t like a slightly rumpled look then I would absolutely avoid the linen.

Could you dye a plan white one in your preferred shade? Dylon machine dye is really easy to use.

Thanks for your reply. I don't like a slightly rumpled look so I guess it is best to avoid. I could buy some fabric and hem it or dye it as you say.

I think beige sounds a bit boring. I have bright red with the occasional embroidered white snow flake. Very Christmassy!
