Towels and Posh hand wash

We are currently having our ensuite ripped out and redone.
All of our towels are old and a bit sad...

I want to get some new ones for the new room - where's your favourite place to get them?

Also, as a treat I thought I'd buy some posh handwash... anyone any suggestions?

Thank you!

I buy Method hand-wash as I love the bottles. Simple.
Towels from M and S here

BasiliskStare · 03/12/2020 11:28

I've often been to John Lewis in their clearance sale for towels.

MooshWoosh · 03/12/2020 20:50

Neals Yard hand wash - either citrus or geranium, both are lovely!

floridapalmtree · 04/12/2020 13:26

John Lewis for towels.

Cowshed or Neals Yard Geranium for hand wash. Or nice organic bar soap which lasts forever.

windmill26 · 04/12/2020 13:50

I like waffle towels and the ones from H&M Home or Zara Home are great value for money. They are soft ,absorbent and look modern.
For hand wash I favour Compagnie de Provence or big bottles of Savon de Marseille that I refill with run of the mill hand wash once empty.TK Maxx has them often at a very good price.

grizzlygrump · 04/12/2020 13:55

For hand wash I love Haeckels or Dr Bronner.

For towels I love to give a couple for presents from Pico Goods - organic cotton, small female-owned business.

LaBodDelMed · 04/12/2020 13:59

I love these towels.
They are really thick.

Molton Brown handwash. Maybe in a colour to match your towels!!

helloxhristmas · 04/12/2020 14:03

Dunellm towels are surprising good quality. I like Milton Brown or L'occitaine.

IsFinnRogersDead · 04/12/2020 14:05

Our Costco hand towels are 9 months old and looks new. The year old ones from John Lewis are fraying and look old.

Waitrose do a lovely Clementine handwash which smells very Christmassy.

Twinkie01 · 04/12/2020 14:06

Diptique do beautiful bottles of hand wash and they also sell refills.

StephenBelafonte · 04/12/2020 14:24

Towels from frette
Soap from Aesop

Only for the guest clockroom though - can't afford it everywhere!

Quornflakegirl · 04/12/2020 14:26

Aesop, Molton Brown, Jo Malone, all lovely.

WellTidy · 04/12/2020 14:27

I really like the M&S Egyptian towels

I am a sucker for luxury hand washes. I love The White Company, Neal’s Yard geranium and Molton Brown. I think luxury hand washes are a good investment as they work out quite cheaply per use. That’s what I tell myself anyway ...

For cheaper, I really rate Waitrose own brand in the range that includes fig and sandalwood, sea kelp and something etc.

WellTidy · 04/12/2020 14:29

Just seen that a PP has recommended Waitrose ginger and clementine. That’s the same range as I was referring to. They’re £2 (absolute bargain). The very nice Fiona Cairns rose hand wash is £3 at Waitrose too as it is currently half price.

Home sense / TK Maxx are good for very posh hand wash at not so eye watering prices

Mybobowler · 04/12/2020 16:45

Echo the tip about TK Maxx/Home Sense. I'm a sucker for fancy hand wash, and I usually buy mine there. Otherwise, thumbs up for Neals Yard or Cowshed.

MikeUniformMike · 04/12/2020 16:51

TK Maxx - Christy towels and marseille soap in a big pump bottle for a small price.
M&S towels are good
John Lewis too, but not the essentials ones

MsSquiz · 04/12/2020 17:00

All of our towels are M&S Egyptian Cotton (different colour for each bathroom/toilet)

For hand wash we tend to have Neal's Yard or Crabtree & Evelyn in the kitchen and downstairs toilet
In the main bathroom I think it's original carex (in a soap dispenser so I can just buy the big refill bags)
Spare room en suite has Aldi Jo Malone dupe line and basil
Our en suite has Jo Malone wild bluebells (mine) & original carex for DH

SuperPug · 05/12/2020 18:20

Another yes for those M&S towels.
Towels in White Company sale are good quality as well although there’s no real difference between them and nice M&S one as well.
With hand wash, I don’t really notice a massive difference between expensive and cheap brands like I do with shampoo.

MrDarcysMa · 05/12/2020 19:10

H&M home do gorgeous small waffle towels in really on trend colours - I've got some nice dusky pink ones atm. I recommend TK maxx for nice hand wash bottles.

livingthegoodlife · 12/12/2020 16:12

Loccitane verbena hand wash (about £20 but cheaper refills)

Towels - local department store or John Lewis?

MrsRogerLima · 12/12/2020 16:14

Ready for the accusations of being a bit to flood in but i really love Tropic Handwash and lotion. It smells absolutely divine (like starburst sweets!) lathers beautifully and the lotion soaks in lovely and is non greasy.

Followed by their nail oil. Off to wash my hands...... 😂

MrsRogerLima · 12/12/2020 16:15

Being a bot*

L4uz · 12/12/2020 16:55

Towels from Costco and Molton Brown hand wash :) although Aldi do a very nice MB knockoff hand wash too

LovingCountryLife · 20/12/2020 22:43
