Would you find it odd

Basically a house I walk past daily has the most fantastic curtains which would go brilliant with my newly decorated living room. Would you find it odd to have a note through the door or if I knocked on and asked (socially distancing of course) .
I may not be able to buy some like it though.
I'm seeing curtains in my sleep I've looked at so many.

Maybe a bit - but also flattering and would definitely tell you where they were from

I think it's fine. I'd be flattered if my curtains were the source of admiration.

In all honesty I’d do a note rather than knocking, in these Covid times. They might feel put out if they open the door, thinking someone would only knock for a good reason, to find that you had knocked because of that. Whereas a note carries no health risks!

I’d do a note too - with your number so they can message you. You won’t risk upsetting anyone who is a bit Covid sensitive, and it gives the person chance to find where they were from, if they don’t remember it off hand.

Someone did that to me over our front door colour - pre Covid so they knocked. A couple of weeks later I walked past a house with the same colour door and I now wonder if it belongs to the same lady
I found it flattering.

So put note through door yesterday, added my mob number .

Hope you find out! I wouldnt mind at all if it was a note through the door, I find most people are usually happy to help.

I had a phone call last night! Lady thanking me for noticing her curtains but unfortunately she can't help me. She had them made about 15 yrs ago with some material she bought back from abroad. I thanked her for calling me and we then had a long chat about life!
She was lovely.
But I'm back to square 1!

Disappointing! At least she called though so at least you won't wonder any more.

You can get fabric from India/indonesia/pakisatn etc quite easily online.
