Oil painting above fireplace?

We have a beautiful oil painting that we want to hang over the fireplace. The fireplace itself is a wood burner with a glass door and there's a wooden beam above it.

Even though there's no smoke, there's quite a lot of heat coming out of it. The beam does get quite hot to touch, althoug the wall above it isn't hot, but there's hot air rising from the recess.

We're worried it might be too hot for oil painting to be there? Has anyone had one above fireplace and found it alright? There's nowhere else to hang it 😕

I also really dislike mirrors above fireplaces, so please don't suggest that! 😁

Noooooo not a good idea. The heat can damage it - it will take a while, but if it's a good painting it's not worth it.

We have a large decorative plate on a chimney breast (which looks better than it sounds).

No I wouldn’t do this. It will damage it. I have a really large fire place, think six foot high and I put some candle sticks up there, and the melted, the wood burner is over three feet below it. And the chimney fully lined and insulated.
