Has anyone used floor tile paint?

I’m looking for a quick, temporary fix for our downstairs toilet. The existing floor tiles are various shades of brown and I’d like to do something to make them look less grubby. I was thinking about floor tile paint but I’m not sure about durability. I’d rather not retile if I can possibly help it!

Has anybody tried floor tile paint?

I’ve tried general tile paint and it was pretty rubbish - flaked off/chopped relatively quickly.

Could you put vinyl/ Lino down over the top of the tiles?

I've used concrete & wood floor paint on wood and it can take some battering but lino/vinyl is probably a better option.
