Inspiration needed for my through lounge

I've just moved in and renovated pretty much the whole house - but not this room. Ran out of budget so the carpet is staying but the walls have been lined and painted. Paint is nutmeg white but I'm not sure on it in this room as I like blues and teals and don't think they go.

I need to buy a sofa and want a squishy corner one, and I need to personalise it with pictures, rugs etc. But I don't know where to start! Ideas for layout and pulling something together are welcomed. The big curtains are thermal and cover a patio door to a conservatory.

Dimensions: 6.43m x 3.89m max (21'1 x 12'9 max) and you also can't see the fireplace opposite the doorway (it's not particularly attractive!)

I think you need to start by considering whether you want the room to feel like one space, or two (living/dining). That will determine the positioning of your corner sofa and you can build around that.

My first thought re. colours is that you need a slightly warmer wall colour with the teal curtains. I would choose a neutral sofa but contrasting rug in deep orange, with similar accents for cushions.

I'd also look at lighting - add some corner standard lamps or uplighters instead of using the ceiling pendants, for a cosier feel. Ikea or Argos cheapies will do the job if you're almost out of budget.

Thanks! The photo doesn't show it very well but the carpet is quite blue. I was thinking of a midnight blue sofa, would that work? I am loving the orange with teal so an orange rug sounds good. I do have other lighting, I've got a rose gold standing lamp and a white globe table lamp. I want a big statement light shade for the ceiling but it can't be too low.

As for layout, I'm putting a table in the kitchen but a bigger one in the lounge along with a reading nook. I think the sofa can only go where my temporary ones are, due to the layout. I do like that blue for the walls. All of them or just a couple? My bedroom walls are all teal tension and I love it.
