Bedroom colour scheme help please!

We’ve a south-facing bedroom. It’s got no interesting features, white uPVC window, nice view, lots of light.

Along one wall we have ugly burgundy gloss wardrobes. They’re great storage which we really need in our house. Carpet is neutral outmealy colour.

Ideally I’d like to just repaint the room: we’re thinking of selling in the next couple years. Replacement wardrobe doors would cost around £400, but I don’t actually see a replacement I like!

So, what colour could I paint the room? I have no preference at all. Grey-green? Dark grey? Off white? It’s a nude stone colour just now, which is OK, but v scruffy now.

Could anyone recommend colours?

More pale pink-nude?

Could do, but would like a change really.

Blues and greys look great in South facing rooms.
I would be tempted to paint the wardrobe doors.

We have grey-green walls and they go very well with our deep red rug, so it’s worth trying the combo. I think the green just has to be muted enough not to look Christmassy with the burgundy. Ours are F&B Cromarty and Mizzle

I was thinking of Mizzle!

I don’t think gloss doors would take paint very well, unfortunately, or Od definitely try to paint.

You'd be surprised how good paint is these days. The valspar range at b&q is brilliant. You would just need to lightly sand the doors, use a primer and then paint with the wood and metal paint. I've used it on various pieces of furniture, including gloss and it's never let me down.

Oh, that sounds great! I think I’ll try it...I’ve painted furniture before but was v wary of high gloss.
