I have a tell ikea pax wardrobe in the corner of my room which I love, but I want rid of the sliding doors and considering having a frame built around it, floor to ceiling, with hinged doors instead. It would also mean instead of looking at the wooden end of the wardrobe as you enter the room, I could paint the new 'fitted' frame the same colour as the walls to help it all blend in. Anyone done anything similar? I love the wardrobe setup interior and it's sturdy so really would rather build around it than rip it out and start from scratch. Am I mad?
