Outdoor Christmas lights

Can anyone help me understand how you power Christmas lights outside your house without having wires trailing everywhere and having to have a window slightly open without a wire going out?

I want to decorate our bay window with outdoor icicle lights. I can't find any that are battery powered and big enough, yet I don't know how to power them from a socket other than having a wire go out the living room window.

Can anyone who does outside lights share how they do it?

Our wire goes out a front window. It is a thin enough wire that you can still have the window shut. Havent severed one yet

I’ve just outside sockets fitted this week for some Christmas lights. Local electrician put a double socket in for £65.

They are plugged in inside with the wire through the closed window. I'm sure the power supplies for our outside lights say they should be inside only.

Yeah mine say the plug needs to be indoors too.

We've got an 'outdoor socket kit' from Aldi this year and run it through an old pipe into the basement where its plugged in. There's a weatherproof box with 4 sockets inside which seems like it'll do the job, but we will be wrapping it in a bag for extra protection.

In the back garden we have an outdoor socket.
