It’s a 1930s house and large front room with huge square bay window and a fireplace, to give the idea. The walls either side of the fireplace will eventually have built in media cabinet/shelving above tv in the alcove between window & fireplace, & other side of fireplace about 3m more of wall will be built in shelving/bookcase perhaps even with a slidey ladder to reach the top shelves 😊 just to give you an idea of the style of room. Area by the window will be sofas/TV and area the far end of the room will be bookshelped & eventually a small baby grand piano. Radiators under the window & far end wall opposite. Solid wood light oak flooring.
Not agreed on overall colour scheme yet - I want green or purple, OH wants blue, we may agree on jade or teal. It won’t be white and greige, put it that way
. My style is somewhat electric and more is more. OH tones me down.
Anyway due to factors about getting flooring repaired after rewire & radiator piping moved before that, we have to get the radiators sorted first. I don’t want white, I liked the idea of funky modern purple radiators but DP didn’t, he wanted fussy ornate cast iron, we agreed on steel column radiators, I favoured metallic copper versions of what we have ordered, runners up were ‘anthracite’ or raw lacquered metal but in the end we went for these metallic bronze ones after hours of debating pictures and feeling we needed to make a decision to get them ordered.
What do people think? I worry that they’re not going to actually look metallic and more just shiny brown. But we agreed them over the metallic copper version as it was still interesting but more subtle, and we thought would go with any of the various colour options being considered for the room, without being too distracting.
