Are the copies any good?

Is it me or does it look a bit bluey/green?

I've got this in a room & not a hint of blue green here. I think it's a lovely colour - but I would say that wouldn't I Smile

There are lots of different opinions on copies but I went with once one for a hall stairs landing etc and that definitely had a green tint in some lights which I don't think the F&B one had.

Linguaphile · 14/11/2020 21:28

Definitely not blue or green. If anything I find it skews purple (in a nice way).

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 14/11/2020 21:37

Deffo not blue or green, a soft grey is how I’d describe it (have it in babies nursery).

I only ever use F&B paints. I think copies can mimic the overall colour but not the depth and finish you get with F&B. Worth every penny IMO.

@SOboredofcleaning I agree with @Linguaphile - I would not say purple but it has a very warm feel to it so I do understand what Linguaphile is saying, which could go well with a very deep brownish purple but not a bright blue purple
& alo @SaveWaterDrinkGin - I do agree with you - I have tried the copies and they have never been the same for me. But others disagree
I don't think of Cornforth white as grey - just a warm neutral colour - but I suspect it is on the spectrum of grey but yes yes - definitely not blue / green - much warmer than "grey" I think - by which I mean if you pointed to it I bet 9 out of 10 respondents would not call it grey

Best wishes @Soboredofcleaning

Thanks all!
I had seen some photos online & they had a greeny hue. Must have been the pics / filter only.

I've had it copied by the B&Q valspa paint and it's a true copy. It's a grey with more of a brown/warm undertone to me, it's a really lovely colour. It's not blue or green at all xx

If you like F&B colours it’s worth investing in one of their swatch books- their proper swatches I mean, not the free colour card. They’re incredibly true to colour and you can move them around and see how the colours behave in different lights.

Hi -

Cornforth White is a near neutral greyed colour from the Yellow Hue Family.

In balanced lighting people may describe it as a warm grey or even greige. In certain imbalanced light setting it may shift purpleish as can all near neutrals from this Hue Family neighbourhood, so it’s important to test carefully in your space.
