Show me yours!

I'm thinking of all white wood chairs, but open to ideas. I don't like ultra modern but they need to be simple too.

This is the table

Barker and Stonehouse have 2 relatively inexpensive dining chairs which would go nicely with your Ercol table (in my opinion):- 'Iben', in black, or
'Hans Wishbone' chairs, also in black.
I realise neither are white as you expressed a preference for, however they are very nice.

Lovely table!
Ercol chairs are slimmer in the seat than many high street brands as we discovered to our coat when we tried to fit chairs round our Ercol table. It won't be a huge problem with your style of table (when you will be fitting chairs around, not between, the legs) but bear it in mind when you think about how many people you want it to sit.

Thank you.

The day before I was due to collect I found another one WITH chairs. Panicked, bought it then realised it wouldn't fit in my car...200 miles away. Had a courier collect it and really glad it came up.

That looks good, OP. Sits well in the room.

Looks lovely! You can't beat the Ercol chairs really. I gave up on my old Habitat set and bought candlestick chairs from EBay to go with our table in the end. Still love them.

I have 6 ercol chairs that I'm probably going to have to sell/get rid of as they don't fit into the new house. Love your table!

Boonlark · 26/11/2020 20:54

Although, seeing yours, I'm now wondering if I should keep four and get the dark varnish stripped off them?

ethelredonagoodday · 26/11/2020 20:56

We have gone a bit mad and bought a load of ercol stuff recently, and DH has stripped and oiled it all. It's such lovely stuff!

Boonlark · 26/11/2020 21:06

How did he strip it? I really love the more natural look in these pics

Show me your pieces!

We used Rustins Strypit first, to take off the varnish, and then sanded with a mouse sander. These were all in the darkest stain. Hard work but they've come up really well! I'll try to add some pics...
