Painting oak table

Hey guys!
So we have this beautiful oak table, but I'm thinking about painting the currently grey/cream legs to black/graphite and making it a bit more modern!
What would be the best type of paint to do this?
Would it be chalk paint or standard wood paint?
Thanks x

You do not paint over beautiful solid oak.

Please dont ruin it. Its a fad that will soon pass like stencilling, rag rolling, terracotta walls.....

I wouldn't paint them black but a graphite colour might be a bit more up to date. I'm not a fan of chalk paint.

Please don't paint the lovely oak top.
Is it a table that you fold out to double the surface area?
