Do carpet shops make rugs as well?

Hi
I am looking for a rug to put in our living room but I almost want just carpet that is made into a rug as I want the size to fit my area perfectly. I am not wanting anything crazy in design just something lovely and soft under your feet like a good carpet.
Anyone had experience with this?

I've had a piece of carpet left over from fitting the sitting room carpet bound and made into a rug; you've nothing to lose by asking!

thanks Knittedfairies I guess I will just call the local stores and see.

Yes, but can be pricey if the carpet comes in a 4 metre width as they sell it by the linear foot and whipping (binding) the edges costs extra. An independent carpet shop that sells offcuts may be your best bet.

thank you!

Our local carpet shop had someone that would do the edging to make it into a rug/runner so worth asking
