Could someone with more experience in this stuff tell me if this sounds doable or totally mad?
Our new house currently has pale wood coloured laminate in the hallway and kitchen, and a manky carpet in the living room that we will take up no matter what.
Option A is obviously to put in a new carpet and keep the laminate (we have two young kids so probably the sensible option)
However... I’m lusting after tiles in the hallway (it’s an Edwardian terrace and I think it would look beautiful). I wonder if we had tiles in the hallway we could then ditch the carpet and put in lovely wooden floors in the living room too.
But would it be weird to have two different shades of wood (I know the laminate doesn’t count but i just mean the way it looks) on the ground floor? and I hate to think how much it would cost....... Thanks in advance for any wisdom!
