Really comfy sofabeds

We're moving and my study will have a sofabed in it for visitors if we have overspill beyond our grown-ups son's room and the spare room. So not used that often. However, I've never found a sofabed that's really comfortable - I want one that feels as much like a proper bed as possible when it's unfolded so that guests don't feel they're camping out.

Any recommendations for either specific ones (not too fussy a design) or brands? Many thanks

Look at Studybed's website. A desk and bed combined.

Love these.... They are like sofas but turn into a a double bed, with proper mattresses

Thanks. I like the Ikea daybed too but when it unfolds to a double bed, one person has to scramble over the other to get in and out. A friend has one and it's a real pain in the middle of the night if you want to pop to the loo.

I think what I'm after is a standard sofa bed but a really comfortable one. A quiet afternoon in John Lewis unfolding them all and bouncing on them is probably the best idea but I would prefer to avoid that at the moment.

I had a john Lewis in and it worked well. Also had a corner one from Ikea, lots if storage and a large area to sleep on, firm .

I would avoid any that have a wire/mess support under the mattress, they are vile to sleep on. Especially for a couple where there is a significant weight difference.

I have an old M&S Abbey sofabed, which is really comfortable. Sprung mattress 10 cm thick, and the mattress width is, I think, 131cm (a double bed is about 135cm wide, for reference). I am looking to replace my sofas and like the Abbey, but the mattress thickness on an Abbey today is 6cm. Just mentioning it, as if you Google for good sofa beds, the Abbey comes up a lot, but it may well be the old Abbey that people are reviewing.

I have an Old Boot Historian sofabed. It was not cheap but it has a memory foam mattress and is really comfortable. My spare room is usually an art studio but I recently had to sleep there as I had work done on my bedroom, and it was really cosy and snug.
