Slipping - ceramic floor tiles

Just posting to see if o am being hysterical...

Recently moved into a new house. It's a new build and has ceramic floor tiles throughout most of downstairs. My partner chose these.

I recently slipped on them and fractured my hip. I now feel very unsafe here and want the majority of the area covered with rugs etc. For eg the hallway and the living area. My partner is refusing as he says he spent a lot of money on them and he has never had an issue.

Am I being silly??

Nope. Not silly at all.
I would be furious if my DH thought the cost of his tiles was more important than my safety.
Would Slipper socks with grips on the bottom help whilst you wait for rugs?
Do you have DC? I dread to think of the damage a child could do if they fell on them.

He’s never had an issue? What does he call his wife’s serious fracture? A non event?
I’d give the uncaring shit a piece of my mind, OP. Then buy the rugs anyway.

I believe you can get an anti slip coating , but i have no idea if it changes the look of the tiles . But I would find his attitude unnaceptable.
