Hello, I'm moving into our new terraced home soon, and it needs loads of work. The living room (attached) is small but I have always wanted a fitted window seat...do you think it would look silly having one in this room, because it isnt a gorgeous big room? Bear in mind I'm having new windows, fireplace, carpet x

@QuentinQuarantino

It would look lovely.

I've also always wanted a window seat!

The only thing I'd be mindful of is the space it might take up in a small room. Is there somewhere else for Xmas tree to go for eg.

Conversely, you could go for a seat that has storage under the seat bit which would be great for small room!

Ooh good point about the christmas tree!

@StCharlotte

I've got one with storage and so has my neighbour. Not damp. It's one of my favourite things. Christmas tree goes on top - just have to remember to take out anything we're going to need first Grin

Go for it.

Thanks for your advice! I will go for it xx

This post has reminded me that nearly every significant wider-family photograph I have was taken with one row of people perched on the windowsill, one row on the window seat and others on the floor.
