Hall runner advice please

I've seen a few runners I like but am not sure what material to get. Cotton that I can put in the wash - but is that going to be heavy enough? Wool - but will that be difficult to keep clean? Jute/seagrass - stains easily? Anyone found the ideal runner?

I’m watching with interest. Spent ages looking online the other day and didn’t find anything. I have a Turtlemat at the moment, but whilst it does the job at trapping dirt it’s not long enough to be a proper runner. I was looking at jute but wondered if it would be too hard to keep clea.

We’ve got something like this. Fake sea grass and wipeable. The other ones on the website are more carpet like so you’d just clean them like a carpet.
