IKEA question - collection

BG2015 · 17/10/2020 11:43

No delivery available for my items but I can collect.

Does this mean the items will be picked for me or do I have to find them myself?

Also it's only giving me the option to collect on a specific day not a day of my choice.

Total IKEA novice for collection purposes.

Any advice would be gratefully received thanks

The info online suggests they prepare it for you and then when its ready you go and collect it from a pick up area at the store

Yes, there's a pickup area at the exit.

Brilliant thanks so much

Yes you pay a fee and they get everything ready for you.

With click and collect at IKEA, I feel like if you’re driving there anyway, just buy everything in store rather than order it to save the fee?

I’m pretty sure you still have to wait for them to prepare your order so it isn’t necessarily a speedy process. I have ordered a warehouse item in store before, and had to wait 20 minutes to collect it. It was just a singular small box of lights.

We went to IKEA last weekend and the queues to checkout were horrendous.

I'm buying PAX wardrobes so there are over 15 times on our list to collect. I just think they will find them much quicker than we will and even if we have to wait 20 minutes I'd rather do that outside than stand in a queue and have to scan and then pay for everything which surely would take much longer.

I did similar this week. I didn’t have to go inside, just keyed in my order number on the tablet and they brought it out, boxed and ready to go.
They are pretty slick.

In some places the click and collect is a nearby location rather than main store.
