We'll be moving at the end of the month and this is currently the kitchen. Whilst not really my cup of tea, it's in too good condition to warrant putting in a new one! The colour currently (although difficult to see on these pics) is a really light minty green shudder. I like my Farrow & Ball so will be using that but just at a bit of a loss for inspiration in this room! It's East facing if that helps.

Def paint the walls and then I would either paint the cabinets OR replace the floor they're too much the same shade.

chromis · 10/10/2020 07:32

You have a nice amount of space and good layout to work with.

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 10/10/2020 07:35

There’s lots of examples on internet of painted cabinets using chalk paint. Don’t know how good it is close up in real life but something to look into.
I’d probably go with a light cream colour, and add a few colourful kitchen accessories.

Minkyscamp · 10/10/2020 07:50

If you're up for painting the cabinets (or getting someone else to) then I'd go for something like Railings on the cabinets and Shaded White on the walls. Railings looks gorgeous in east facing rooms and would complement the wooden floor beautifully.

Why not get the cabinets professionally sprayed? Lot cheaper / less wasteful than replacing and better finish (unless you're confident about doing it by hand yourself).

Kitchen is a nice layout and you can easily improve it.

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 10/10/2020 08:02

You could also change worktops cheaply if you don't like those and even add a seated island where the table/worktop arrangement is now.

Sorry, you asked for colours - I like cornforth white for units but Little Greene also has a lovely palette

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 10/10/2020 08:26

Also I know you said you like F&B but I would t have thought it was durable enough for a kitchen. (Every professional decorator I know hates the stuff as it marks so easily). The colours are beautiful, it’s just not very durable.

Crazzzycat · 10/10/2020 11:08

I actually wouldn’t paint the units. I’d change the floor and then paint the walls. The colour of the units and the floor are just too similar at the moment.

There’s lots of F&B colours that would go with the colour of those units. Something like pointing would look lovely. Alternatively, if you want something bolder, I think a stronger blue would work. Farrow & Ball DeNimes might be worth looking at.

Thanks so much for the comments everyone - some great ideas.
@Crazzzycat love De Nimes but planning that for the living room!
@loveisagirlnameddaisy seated island - genius! Could do with some more cupboard space..
@Minkyscamp love the idea of Railings on the units.
How privileged I am to have such first world problems. Have a lovely day y'all. Grin

Little Greene’s Junipet Ash would work beautifully with the cabinets the way they are.
