Throw out some bedroom decoration ideas

Spare room, square, fits a double easily. Has a window and Juliet balcony so lots of light and looks out into garden. Modern house and oak floorboards.

Only piece of furniture which has to stay is a white upholstered double bed with a headboard and wings.

Room will probably be reconfigured/ become a child's room within the next 5 years so don't want to blow the budget, but looking for something fun.

I quite fancy something darkish but worried that this will jar with the bags of
Light that comes into the room.

Any thoughts ?

Can you put the dark paint on the wall behind the bed? Then the light walls will be by the window/balcony which will help with reflecting light.

Then have dark bedding and curtains.

If you’re looking for something relatively short term, how about a pale colour (easy to paint over!) with some sort of big wall mural/ scary wallpaper (which you’ll get bored of).
