How much would this carpet be?

I’m interested in getting two small bedrooms and a small landing recarpeted and underlay, fitted too. I would just use a basic place like Carpet Right/ Tapi/ etc.
I wouldn’t want the cheapest rubbish but nothing fancy!
I don’t want to waste their time calling them out for a quote if it will be way over budget so I was wondering if anyone else had a similar sized area carpeted and could tell me how much they paid so I had a rough idea? X

If you go onto the carpet right website & pick the carpet there is a box to put your measurement it so it will give you a quote for the carpet costs

www.carpetright.co.uk/carpets/room/bedroom/

For example 5x4 in the Truro would be £249

www.carpetright.co.uk/carpets/truro-saxony-carpet/

Same for the underlay

www.carpetright.co.uk/underlay/

They will also add on the prices for carpet grippers and any door strips needed

We are having a carpet fitted in a small room, ordered it last week, the fitting is £40 but the fitting price per square meter may vary by area.

You’d be better off probably finding a local carpet shop, I found using the online calculator with Tapi and Carpet Right (I think they’re the same company anyway?) that while the carpet is cheap they really burn you with the underlay and extras. I called round a few local shops and chatted to them and got something similar for 2/3 price

It was a long time agin now, but my local Carpetright were awful, and when I complained about the mess their fitter had made of my carpets, the manager's attitude was terrible. They've shut down my local store, thankfully.

Go to a local independent, if you can.

We had 2 double bedrooms, smallish lounge and small hallway in a flat done in a basic 5 year carpet for just under £1000. Difficult to know for yours depending how small the rooms but maybe 500-1000?

I think what causes a leap in price (for same quality, same supplier) is width - a 5m wise carpet is much more £ per square metre than a 4m wide one.

I used a local carpet fitter and paid £385 for carpet, fitting and removal of the old one for a living room (big room, open plan and a weird shape!)

Thank you! That’s helpful! I may actually look into a smaller independent company! X

I would avoid carpet right etc like the plague. I saved so much money by going to a local place. Great service, too.

I went to Flooring Superstore. I bought 100% wool loop. Did bed, living room and stairs /landing. Bought underlay, grippers and door bars, separately. Got a fitter from gumtree. Carpet was around £1000. Underlay etc £250 and fitter £165

Having a medium double bedroom done tomorrow £280 fitted and waste removed. Medium priced carpet (£16 per sqm) including decent underlay.
