Loaf or sofa.com experience?

Looking to finally get new sofas for our separate front room which is going to be an “adult” space. Want to invest in something super snuggly and comfortable, yet stylish. Planning to visit Loaf and sofa.com showrooms this week - does anyone have experience they can share? Are they worth the money? Should I look anywhere else for good quality deep comfy sofas? Thanks in advance for any ideas / thoughts.

I have two sofa.com bluebell sofas, really comfy & very hardwearing so far had them about six years customer service was excellent & good choices of fabric/colours.

Thank you!

We have a Stella Chaise sofa from sofa.com and a Stella armchair. I had sourced these on the Internet but visited the showroom in Chelsea to try them out before buying. Had a wonderful experience - Prosecco offered on arrival and biscuits for my daughter. The sofa and armchair have the most amazing velour fabric in navy blue (armchair) and an olive green (sofa). Absolutely love em ! Stylish and comfortable ❤️

I have seen quite a few Loaf sofas in real life now and the quality varies hugely. You might want to register at Trade Secret as they often have Loaf sofas and furniture on sale.

Sofa.com - definitely try out the furniture first. I loved the look of Bluebell and Snowdrop online but in store, found them quite hard. Went for the Teddy in the end. Definitely wait until they have a 20% offer on though.

Sofas and Stuff quality seems good if you are near one of the stores but slightly more ££ than sofa.com.

We bought our bed from sofa.com and it's the comfiest thing I've slept on. I could stay in bed all day 😴

Allwearenow · 30/12/2020 15:42

How do you find the teddy sofa? Does it hold up well with use over time?

Tigger03 · 30/12/2020 15:44

We have the bluebell and it’s really comfy - at first I wasn’t sure but it gets softer the more you use it (and easy to fluff back up).

Delivery good as well.

I’m so torn between the loaf squishmeister, thé Teddy / bluebell chaise from sofa.com - can’t really decide which one to buy :( do you find the bluebell deep enough to curl up on with your legs under you?

Tigger03 · 30/12/2020 16:30

Yes to the bluebell being deep - this is me on it right now (excuse the mess / slippers)

Ahhh amazing!!! Do you find you lounge with thé footstool as well? Debating between the chaise or just footstool :) thanks soo much! This is super helpful

Tigger03 · 30/12/2020 16:50

I love the footstool - I use it loads (although because I only have fairly small legs I have to pull it quite close - DH is fine 😂).

This is both just after decorating.

This place in bury st edmunds sells loaf seconds/returns at roughly half price. They are closed atm but if you email them they will send a regular stock list as new stock comes in each week. We got a bed from them recently, they are very helpful.

That looks amazing! We have the same living room layout and almost same colour wall! What fabric did you go with for the sofa?

Thank you! I’ve messaged to see if they have the one we want in stock - fingers crossed!

@Allwearenow it was whatever the cheapest grey is, but I’m really happy with it. Dove grey maybe?

Al77 · 02/01/2021 19:24

We had a loaf Oscar 3 seater. Looked amazing, really amazing but too deep to be comfortable for us. Great to lie on though. We sold it after a year at a massive loss and bought a Laura Ashley sofa which doesn't look as good but doesn't bother my back. Probably fine if you have really long legs.

Al77 · 02/01/2021 19:36

We had pencil grey laundered linen and it was amazing fabric. Great texture, not too dark, didn't show the dirt, still looked pristine after a year.

SidVisk · 16/01/2021 13:12

@Tigger03

I love your rug - where is it from? And the ottoman is lovely too.

Chillypenguin · 16/01/2021 13:53

Name change but it’s from John Lewis - we got it in last years Boxing Day sales so worth checking.

And thank you!

froggydoggy · 16/01/2021 16:02

@Chillypenguin I LOVE the paint colour, please can you tell me what it is?x

Chillypenguin · 16/01/2021 16:09

Thank you! It’s farrow and ball ‘denimes’

We tested quite a few and settled on that as Hague Blue seemed a bit too dark.

TheScoresOnTheDoors · 16/01/2021 16:16

We've got an Isla from sofa.com. it's incredibly comfortable, service was great etc. I actually preferred some of the styles and fabrics from loaf but when we went to the showroom I found them too squishy - I could imagine us lounging on them to watch films but thought visitors might never get up again. The sofa.com ones seemed more suitable for both. We also have a footstool and got our bed from there - I second @GreekOddess its sooo comfortable. If you live near the showroom for both I reakon just go and have a sit (appreciate might not be possible at the moment) - such a fun thing to shop for!
