Curtains

I'm trying to find fabrics for new curtains for our living room. We've got big windows and external glass doors, and with high ceilings, can definitely carry off something quite bold.

Room has just been painted in F&B Parma Grey, we will have a massive roman blind, another smaller roman blind, and then very long wide curtains to cover the door, so needs to be something that can look good over such large expanses of fabric.

I'm a fan of 'eccentric' decorating, but am struggling to find the right thing for curtains. Either what I see is a bit too safe (like this clarke-clarke.com/product/amelia-blue-linen/). Some possibilities include the following:

www.britanniarose.com/harlequin/takara-indigodenim
www.britanniarose.com/persian-tulip-weave-indigo
www.britanniarose.com/fabric/animal/demoiselle-midnight

So quite different styles I think, but maybe gives an idea of what I would like?

Has anyone seen anything amazeballs that blew them away recently?!? Oh, and I'd probably like to spend no more than about £50 a metre - we need approx 22m...

I was recently on the same position with my whole house. It’s exhausting looking and so hard to know what’s the right choice especially when you can like so much.. If you wish I can send you the details of who I used, she’s independent company but works nationally and gave me a great discount on the fabrics I needed.

Just looked at your choices and Voyage fabrics came to mind.

EmmaStone · 07/10/2020 17:58

Thank you both. BF, we've got a local independent firm making them up for us, they've asked for some ideas for fabrics.

Thanks for the Voyage fabrics, just had a quick squizz, will look in more depth later.

Think I'm tipping towards this one though www.britanniarose.com/fabric/animal/demoiselle-midnight

Apologies, @EmmaStone- the previous post was an error on my part

Please do carry on as you were. Grin

@LouMumsnet Ooh, I'm rather thrilled that I raised someone's attention on a very boring thread!

Thank you @BasiliskStare, my DH looked sceptical, but he knows better now not to contradict my home style ideas Grin

Ah that’s fab, it’s fab you’re going to a local independents they need it so much right now.

I love the demoiselle fabric, the Pyrenees fabric is lovely from the same collection, I’ve ordered some cushions in copper colourway.

Saz12 · 08/10/2020 22:05
