We have a next sofa , approx 7 yrs old, which was lovely when first arrived, but has not worn well.

It looks stylish shape wise , but the fabric has worn badly and the seats have gone saggy.

Can anyone recommend a company which sells better quality sofas, which will last well, but also look modern?

It seems the good quality ones look like ones in nursing homes! We also need one that’s pretty big.

We have 2 sets (one 2 set , one 3 set) both from DFS, both comfy. The first we bought in 2010 is just about at the point where the end we typically sit at is a bit saggy. The ones from 2015 are still perfect. Both bought with their 4 year no deposit interest free credit offer too, so paid about £40 a month for them over that time, which was manageable for us.

We have the Brunel sofa from Heal's. Everyone who sits on it comments how comfy it is.

Sofa.com have always been brilliant for us. Great choice of fabrics, mix of modern and older styles and very well made.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Fabulous choice and quality for the price.

I just changed my sofa to one from laz-boy and it's so nice, it was a little pricy but it's fully electric, has a media unit and is endorsed by an American chiropractor. It almost forces you to sit properly. Yet I can still recline when I want to relax. It's a corner one with 7 seats. It was about £4500.

I bought one earlier this year from sofas and stuff. Went to their showroom in bishop stortford. Very nice and knowledgeable staff.

Collins and Hayes.
They also use the Roma Linara fabrics for the loose cover sofas. Peachy cotton/linen mix in 360 shades.

Thanks for the great suggestions.

Will take a look.

I love corner sofas but can’t seem to fit one into our rectangular sitting room, as have patio doors, at one end, windows at the other, a fireplace on one wall and 2 doors on the other!

I got a corner sofa 7 years ago from The Furniture Village, it was £1200 and is still in brilliant condition now, it's oatmeal colour and hardly marks, I think I might have had some kind of protection put on it, I can take the covers off to wash them and they come up like new, no fading or worn at all. It's also very deep and comfortable and not saggy at all.

I'd definitely look there again.

We bought our sofas from M+S fifteen years ago and they’ve been great.
I’d like to replace them next year for a new colour but they are still very comfortable and the upholstery is wearing very well. Almost too well, as DH can’t see the point in changing them. I will look to buy from M+S again.

Hey @Graffitiqueen , how’s the Heals Brunel sofa holding up after quite a few years? Thinking about it but would be interested to know if it stood the test of time! Thanks
