Help with living room colours

We’ve got a Victorian terrace and need to paint the living rm after some building work. We’ve got blue armchairs, a grey sofa and dark navy curtains. I really like F&B mizzle and Cromarty (grey greens), but they’re not going to go are they?! Can anyone suggest a good alternative?

It depends. When you say “blue armchair”, what kind of blue are you talking about? Dark, light, navy or more turquoise?

I’ve used mizzle before and even though it’s a grey green, it does have a bit of blue in it, so it could work. Best thing to do would be to get a tester, especially as from experience I can tell you it looks completely different in different settings. I loved it in my previous house, but just can’t get it to work in my current one. It just looks drab ☹️

My current living room is F&B blue gray, which confusingly looks more green than blue in my house. It goes ok with my turquoise sofas and I can imagine it looking really good with navy.

Thanks for the response! Armchairs are kind of a mid-denimy blue, curtains are more like midnight.

I’ll have a look at blue gray as well. I like french gray too - clearly leaning towards the green side of the spectrum which isn’t necessarily the best fit with my furniture!

I would go more of a stone colour, maybe dimity, slipper satin, shaded white. I think it would add some warmth and make the blue pop.

Hmm, F&B have a combo of Mizzle with Stiffkey Blue, so it might work? www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/mizzle

Thanks! The armchairs are a similar colour to stiffkey actually. I’ve ordered a load of testers inc mizzle, blue grey, and some of the beigey/grey whites like skimming stone and old white so will see what it looks like on the walls. Forgot to say that we have a beige carpet, though it’s mostly covered with a blue and grey rug (which we can keep or lose).

I have Cromarty in my kitchen and it would go with denim and grey

We've got a beige and blue living room and painted it Parma Gray if that's any help?

Skimming Stone is what you need op
