light for over the dining table

We have a big table (10 seats) in a modern room with a low ceiling (but big windows). At the moment, there are 3 Ikea pendant lights over the table, but they aren't centered over the table (annoying) and I'd like to get something more interesting.

I like simple / modern / scandi design, but most lights seem designed for great high ceilings and won't fit this room.

Any suggestions?

Hiw about one long light suspended but quite short. Find one that is dimmable.
