Painting a room in evening/artifical light

I've always been told that you should avoid painting a room in the evening using artifical light but my OH is wanting to paint our bedroom after work?

I'm a total novice but thought it was a no-no due to shadows or something?

Can anyone advise?

Dh always says its not good to paint at night, even with day light lamps. Perhaps you could get it started, base layers, in the evenings but leave the top coat until day time. Would that work?

Surely the paint goes on the same no matter what time of day it is Confused Paint isn’t going to get darked on?

We've painted in the evenings, needs must. But I always left the cutting in til the weekend and daylight.

Depends if there’s a big contrast between the old and new paint. The risk is that it’ll be patchy and less neat, particularly if you are say refreshing with a new coat of magnolia rather than changing colours completely. But it’s not impossible.

I've done it loads of times, just put big light on!
