A burgundy velvet chair

We're having a new bedroom, but one thing that must stay is a burgundy velvet chair. We've just had grey/white/burgundy and would like a complete change, preferably light and airy but warm colours and something which would suit a Victorian house.

Any ideas for a colour palette?

Furniture is dark wood.

How about a pinky/beigey/“nude” colour for walls, white bed linen?

Burgundy goes with mossy greens and charcoal very well, but that doesn’t meet your brief at all!

I think the pinky/beigey/nude could work well with burgundy but maybe look a little on the feminine side.

You could also go with old school heritage colours.

Or more mushroomy neutrals and a bit of cream and black + burgundy.

Or just get the chair reupholstered to suit whatever you like.

And maybe look at the rest of the house to carry through some of the colours so it doesn’t look disjointed.

Unfortunately, getting the chair reupholstered isn't possible. We like its old, worn look and it's not actually worth much as an antique. I like the 'nude' walls idea - thank you.
