F&B Pelt

DP and I have just bought a house together so have a lot of mismatched furniture. We like this look anyway so that’s not a problem but have taken the plunge to paint the fairly large, bright sitting room in f&b Pelt (very deep purple). We’re looking at getting new throws for the sofas, mirrors, lamps to dress the room but unsure on colours. I think mustard throws and maybe copper/rose gold light fittings but I will hold my hands up and say I’m utterly rubbish at this sort of thing so could do with some help/inspiration. Any advice would be great. 😁

Probably should say the house is over 100 years old with very high ceilings, ornate coving and a lovely ceiling rose.

Ooh, I have a picture somewhere of deep aubergine walls and a brushed (not shiny) brass lamp - the combination is brilliant. Will see if I can find it. Mustard would tie in with the brushed brass and then you might want a third more neutral colour like a deep brown or dark grey.

www.blakeslondon.com/suffolk here is the deep purple room I was thinking of - it may well be Pelt - with brass bits.

Not rose gold with purple and yellow.

Purple and yellow are complementary colours, so yes, it's a class combination. And copper or brass, sure, would look good, but rose gold is a pink too far.

Yes @minipie that’s looks like exactly the colour we’ve gone for. DP has finished the first coat this afternoon and it looks amazing. He really wasn’t sure about having the purple everywhere but even he agrees it was the right decision.

Had a look in John Lewis this afternoon and couldn’t see any throws the right colour but did see a lovely foot stool and some cushions.

@lojoko will definitely stick to brass and yellow. Smile

Rich olive green could look amazing too, perhaps velvet cushions?
WHat colours are your sofas?

justpoppy · 21/09/2020 12:00

@trickyex yes I think velvet would look amazing. We have two sofas - one is a tan coloured leather the other is a deep burgundy. As I said before we’re all a bit mismatched having only just moved in together.

Thinking this throw in mustard. Anyone have any experience of this company?

I am pretty sure they are kosher, have seen their catalogues and they look good.
Love that throw. Mix that with some aubergine velvet cushions? Habitat has some good colours/sizes.
WHat are you having on the floor?

Here too (50x50 if a nice size)
