Does anyone have this and how is it? I really want the velvet one but dh doesn’t. So I’m guessing we won’t be getting the velvet one, but is it good? We have a cat though so does anyone have a velvet sofa with a cat?

Thank you

Ooh I'm just bumping this as I am looking at velvet sofas too with a catSmile

Have the zinc but not the velvet. We have the teal Tweedy kind of material.

There's a good reason it's a best seller, absolutely brilliant sofa, comfy and looks great. There's a few threads on here about it already, if you search you might find them (search on here is rubbish though!)

We do have cats and they are a total nightmare for scratching furniture but thankfully the tweed seems to have held up reasonably well so far.

We didn't pay for the special coating to prevent stains, just bought some scotch guard and did it ourselves and we've washed one set of covers after the cat was sick on it... Came out really well.

Damn cats!

I have velvet cushions on my sofa and they look terrible because they pick up every cat hair going. I really wanted a velvet sofa but after seeing what happens to these cushions I’m glad I didn’t get one

I have a brand new dfs charcoal velvet sofa. No cats, dogs, children, food or dirty clothes are allowed near it and yet there's always visible bits of fluff on it. It's gorgeous though and I'm delighted with it.

We have the french connection zinc in dark grey velvet. Love it. Anything in particular I can help with?

How long have you had the sofa, out of interest?
I’ve been eyeing it up but Trustpilot has terrible reviews if DFS in general.

We've had the 'Sam' sofa from DFS in forest Green velvet for about month now with 3 cats. It does get fairly hairy, although less than I thought. The hairs come off very easily though with a lint roller or vacuum. In terms of comfort, we were pleasantly suprised given the range is not available to tey in most stores so we bought 'blind'. I wouldn't say it's any less comfy than the zinc sofa which my sister has in the tweedy material. I was a bit nervous about going with DFS as they used to be known for being terrible but again I was pleasantly suprised.

I have a velvet sofa from Sofa.com. I love it! My cat sleeps on it but uses her scratching post, decorated with cat nip, for her claws.

We have the Zinc, it's about 3 years old and I still love it. It looks almost new, is really comfy and the cat can't seem to scratch it much. We did find DFS a bit annoying to deal with as they left us with one sofa without legs for a really long time, but the sofa is good.
