Replacement sofa cushions

Who's bought them?
Our sofa is about 15 years old and the cushions at the back in particular are all saggy and horrible. But our kids are still young and still have a tendency to jump on it so we don't want to replace it just yet.

Has anyone ever bought foam replacement cushions? There's a place near us that cuts foam to size and I wondered if this would be a cheaper way of freshening the sofa up when we're not quite ready to replace it.

Or will the foam only look good for a few months then look a bit rubbish? Although they can't look more rubbish than the saggy old cushions we have on there right now so we don't really have anything to lose.

You should get a few years out of high density foam.

We've just had our sofa seat and back cushions replaced by a company in Bristol who operate nationwide. We had a cost estimate initially, then once we had decided to go ahead they send you the packaging items for you to send one set of cushions complete and the covers only from the rest, once you have them packaged up you let them know and they arrange for courier collection. We have a large 3 seater and a decent sized 2 seater sofa set from Next which are 5 years old. They took just over two weeks from collection to delivery of the refilled covers and we are absolutely over the moon. Once they had received our cushions and covers they rang to check which foam we wanted, we didn't go for the firmest but next one down so they are quite firm with a little bit of give on the outer layer, they are filled with foam shaped to the cover and another layer on top but I can't remember what it is, sorry.

For the 4 seat and 4 back cushions it cost about £540 I think, the sofas were around £2000 new and the foam feels better than the original so I have high hopes that they should last at least another 5 years. I absolutely love our sofas and really didn't want to replace them so I'm really happy as it feels like we now have new sofas but for a fraction of the price.
