What colour for hallway?

We can't decide what to do with our hallway! We want the same colour for up and down stairs. Downstairs has lounge - potentially orange/Moroccan sort of theme, and kitchen will be sage/cream. Upstairs has dark green bathroom and purple and blue bedrooms. Obviously we don't want this to all clash with the hall.

The hallway itself - downstairs is dark with no windows. I want it to feel welcoming. Upstairs it has a large window so is quite bright. We have mostly red/orange/dark brown furniture and decorations, so need a colour to complement those.

So, with all that in mind, what colour do you think the hallway should be? I think maybe a light grey, but I don't want it to look to formal/boring Give me some inspiration!

Most of the colours you've mentioned for the rest of the house are warm toned (perhaps with the exception of the blue depending on what blue it is) so I'm not sure grey would really work. Perhaps a greige or warm off white would be more inkeeping?

I have a similar sounding set up. My hall and stairs and landing are a pale blue. Love it.
