Help with Curtains for DS's Bedroom

Could really do with some help from all you MN interior designers 😀We have just decorated his bedroom. He is late teens and chose the colours for the walls. He has one wall a bright red (not my cup of tea but he loves it) and the other walls are in Dulux Rocksalt. We bought him a new duvet cover from La Redoute - photo attached but I am at a loss for curtains. His current curtains are blue striped so won't go.

I thought probably plain red but there are so few on-line and they all look so old fashioned looking. Anyone have any ideas? I wondered about red stripes but I don't think they would go with the duvet! DS is also having a new mid grey carpet if that helps.

I would keep to a plain curtain, no pattern, be easier to find too, you could do a mid grey to match the carpet

Thank you both for your views. Funnily enough I did look at those curtains @RingoFlamingo but DS is not keen 🙄

We had his carpet laid today and I have found some grey curtains which I think might go with the carpet. They are from Next so think I will order them to see what they are like as can always send them back if we don't like them. Thanks for the suggestion @BF2748.

I'm usually ok with colour schemes but I have struggled with this because of the red. So not my colour!
