Perfect white and grey for walls

Hi All, can anyone help with the above. I have tried lots of testers for white and grey on our walls but the greys either look too cold or a bit mushroomy. I’m just after a pure light grey! I see so many pictures of beautiful houses in greys and whites but I just can’t seem to find the right colours.
Also looking for a pure white.
Anyone got any ideas?

Great white by Farrow and Ball is a greyish white with a bit of a violet tone to it. Valspar beluga is pretty much an identical colour, but has the benefits of being easier to apply and is scrubbable.

Dulux Pure Brilliant White is exactly that, it's white without any hints of other colours and reflects the light really well. I thought it might be a bit cold but it's not.

My favourite grey is Dulux Calm Cloud - it's on the colour chart for Ireland though, not on the UK one, so that might not be much good to you! There's bound to be a similar colour though. It's a soft, light grey which picks up the colours of the furnishings around it and changes in different lights. It has no mushroomy tones in it at all, more blueish if anything. I have it in a few rooms and I love it.

Dulux chic shadow is a nice true grey.
Also dulux is rock salt which is a very pale grey it looks almost white in some lights.

AriesTheRam · 25/08/2020 16:56

Rock salt by dulux is the perfect grey.no blue tones.

Theforest · 25/08/2020 16:56

Definitely agree with Dulux Pure Brilliant White as a pure white. Recommend. Good coverage too.

Dulux trade paint armstead in swansdown is a true pale soft grey.

Well we have searched high and low for the best in our opinion grey, we love Farrow & Ball paint expensive I know, but you get what you pay for very pigmented, I really wanted to like Ammonite but the colour on card that I painted and took round the hall stairs and landing really looked a dirty white, but we settled on cornforth white which we have in our front room and strong white, cornforth to me is a beautiful grey, but don’t forget it depends on the light that comes into your rooms

I use Dulux Pure Brilliant White for walls and ceilings.

I've also used Dulux Polished Pebble for walls in a north-facing bedroom and found it to be pure light grey with no blue/purple tones.

PickAChew · 01/09/2020 14:51

We're doing our hall in little greene gauze mid which is a pale blue grey and looks lovely and fresh on a dark, rainy day when everything else turns brown.

Dulux steel 3. A really nice shade of grey. There are other steels for lighter or darker shades. All in the same tone.

peachypetite · 01/09/2020 15:18

Polished pebble

Another vote for polished pebble. We've got it in our north facing hallway, landing & stairwell with brilliant white on the woodwork. It's a clear grey without other colour hues.

Agree with glamGiraffe, Dulux Steel Grey 3 is very nice

We had Little Greene French Grey in our last house, and it was perfect.

For white, I always default to Dulux Timeless.

MySaladDays75 · 02/09/2020 09:11

Another vote for polished pebble

Little Greene French Grey Pale (113 I think) looks like it has a slight greenish tinge but is a lovely grey.
Dulux Light & Space Absolute White is very white.

Voting for Dulux Calm Clouds!

We are in England and managed to get it fine. It is a lovely grey and has transformed our kitchen!
