Dulux with a navy blue

Hi. I've seen that timeless is a popular choice here and I'm considering it for my bedroom, possibly with a navy or dark blue feature. The room is square and dominated by a super kingsize bed. I'm looking to have a bank of drawers along one wall (ikea malm) but haven't fully decided on colour but the bed base is a fabric cream beige as is the carpet (that is possibly going to be replaced)! I really don't want grey as I have that in my sons room and a large kitchen. I'd actually love the whole room the blue but dread the thought of hating it then having to cover it Grin. Has anyone used these together? Or can recommend anything?

Struggling to edit the title to add the word timeless 🙈

Have used Timeless above our picture rail and for ceiling, Goose Down below the picture rail. We then splashed out on Littlegreene for the blue paint for the feature wall in a shade called Woad. This is a slightly muted shade of navy.

Overall effect is very calming, and the depth and tone of the posh paint was worth every penny for a master bedroom. Timeless is a great shade to make spaces feel bigger and brighter without being yet another grey or too close brilliant white.

Have also used Dulux Rock Salt alongside Littlegreene Dock Blue. This is an even darker blue although still slightly muted in tone, and alongside the much lighter rock salt has made an east facing room feel much bigger and more modern. Hope that helps, can you tell we like blue!

Does the rock salt not look grey? I need to order samples as online they don't look that white 😃

I have Timeless with River Rock ( very dark blue) in my kitchen. The river rock looks great against the wooden units and the timeless lightens it up.

We have just painted my D's bedroom Dulux Niagara Blues 1. We have painted three quarters up and the top bit is white. . I am really pleased with it.

Rock Salt only appears to be the very palest of greys next too a pure brilliant white. I've used it in an east facing room as it seemed somehow brighter and reflected more light than Timeless when I had sample papers up on the walls. I'd say it's worth a buying a sample if you've not already.

We always have Dulux paint (our decorator likes it). In our study, we have Piano White (very close to Timeless) with Sapphire Salute, and I love it very much. DH does not, but he is very, very wrongSmile

Lardlizard · 25/08/2020 10:48

I’m after a nice navy too sapphire salute might be a bit too bright blue for what I’m after

Crylittlesister · 25/08/2020 10:54

Sapphire salute has come out quite dark in DC's bedroom. It's next to rock salt (no idea this combination was a thing!). Definitely blue, but dark. Actually, v similar on the wall to the colour of the "preview " and "post' buttons!!

This is my tiny cloakroom in Sapphire Salute. Not sure if the woodwork is Timeless but the ceiling is and it's very similar. (I use Timeless a lot!)

I must admit, our study is a very lights, bright view, and Sapphire Salute does look 'bluer' - but still a navy, and I still love it. This is what it looks like:

What a difference light makes. To be fair, our cloakroom only has a tiny window.
