Lengthening curtains with adjustable curtain hooks?

Has anyone ever used these? I just tried to hang some ready made curtains that I thought would be the right length to just hit the sill but they were about 1 1/2 cm too short! I know that sill length curtains are generally frowned upon on here, but we have mega wide 1930s internal window sills and they are needed on these windows!

I have just found what looks like a good solution online but I wondered if anyone had used them? Are they visible at the top? We don't have a pelmet.

If they look crap then I will just buy longer curtains and either take them up or pay for someone to alter them. I love this fabric and can't really afford made to measure!!

Thank you - this is what I have been looking for although I didn't even know they existed!

I have had to go sill length, and I like them. The house is old and crooked and getting the length correct to radiator/floor was impossible, the curtains would have to have been tailored on an angle. Yet the sills are level.

If you only need 1-2cm could they be unpicked at the hem?

I will try these then think about what I can do to fix it- we did think about altering the hems. I didn't know these existed either!

If everything was very wonky, I think you could hang them then adjust each one to a slightly different amount.... they arrive tomorrow- I will update!

Do you currently have a track or a pole? Depending on your set up it might be worth lowering (if possible) or if not swapping to a pole - because the curtains hang below the pole it would gain you that extra length. Seems a big job but might be worth it if it takes your curtain size to being a standard ready made drop as it will be far easier to get curtains in the future. And probably quicker then unpicking and redoing the hem!

@StatisticallyChallenged it's a track and it had to be ceiling mounted inside the bay so no option to lower it! Otherwise I def would have lowered it!

Update- they were not the solution I was looking for- they were too visible at the top. I brought my mum round for her opinion- we are going to lengthen from the hem like you suggested @thisstooshallpass

@Clarabellawilliamson oh well you tried. I had a closer look and the 7.5mm ones only offer a 5cm increase in length, I need 8cm 😢

Least we know these things exist!
