Come and tell me about greige

What are your favourite greige paints and what do you pair it with? I’ve seen greige / white / black together which looks lovely but I’m wondering what else people are putting greige with? And if you have it, does it read yellowy?

It really pairs witj any colour, that's why it's so popular. It looks lovely with yellow, navy, gold, green, black, white. A good starting point is dulux Egyptian cotton, that's a good all round griege colour x

F and B skimming stone paired with pale blue here.

I've got Egyptian cotton and I love it

I’ve got farrow and ball ammonite which I think comes under griege. Nice and warm. I have it paired with natural Oak floorboards and a jute kind of colour Berber carpet. Furniture is cream and oak (Sussex range from cotswold company), mid grey sofa and chair, Cream curtains, then some pale blues and greens for accessories.

My whole house was painted elephants breath greige when we bought it. It is so gloomy, I hate it. I’m slowly working my way through it all painting over it, a nice off-white. It is so much brighter and more cheerful where it’s been repainted. Can’t wait to get the dingy living room done.

Dove Grey! Not Greige! Or Tortora to give it its proper Italian name, or maybe Corda (rope). Most versatile colour ever.

Slipper Satin from F & B is a lighter version of Skimming Stone. Very soft & subtle & looks great oif you want a lighter dove grey.

Elephants Breath is very dark! And very grey! Dont blame you for painting over it.

I've got slipper satin and I hate it! Too yellowy, in my house it has no hint of grey. I did try a sample and it looked OK.

skimming stone and ammonite here.

Ammonite is interesting. I have it in my bedroom and dressing room. In the bedroom my curtains are linen, carpet is ivory and my bedspread is velvet but warmer tones. The ammonite looks very warm in here. You certainly wouldn't say the room is grey. In the dressing room where there are no other warm tones for it to bounce off, just mirrors and hard white surfaces of the fitted wardrobes, it reads very much as a cooler pale grey.

skimming stone reads as the colour of new plaster in my dining room. Quite pinky as an undertone.
