Lampshade help!

Can anyone help me please? This is driving me batty.

Quite a long time ago I bought a John Lewis teardrop style floor lamp for the sitting room - like this:

www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-teardrop-floor-lamp/p151823

I still really like the base but the lampshade is totally knackered and broken so I want to replace it. It doesn’t have to be the same shade, but I do want the same kind of shape - a cylinder type of thing. But I cannot find tall lampshades for floor lamps for love nor money, anywhere. All I keep coming up with when I search is short round shades for ceiling lights. Or companies wanting to sell me a whole new lamp.

Can anyone please please help me find something that would do?! Any kind of neutral colour would be fine.

Oh thank you! I had found those. The first one doesn’t look like it does retail sales - ? The other two are too small unfortunately - my old lampshade is 1m tall. It’s so baffling that none of the major interiors stores seem to sell anything like it. Is there a big trend for short lampshades at the moment?!

When you say the shade is knackered, do you mean the frame as well as the fabric? Because if not, you can really easily recover the frame.

The frame just consists of two circles of metal - the shade itself is a very firm kind of hessian which holds itself up, if you see what I mean. So you couldn’t just recover the frame with fabric. And you could layer fabric over the hessian BUT ! It’s come completely away fro the two metal circles. I’m sure someone decent at crafty stuff could use it as the basis for making one of their own but tbh I’m not at all crafty and I don’t have the time either! 😢

I’ve also tried looking for other alternatives that could go on the base but can’t see anything other than squat circular lampshades in all directions ... it’s bizarre.

www.lampshadebarn.co.uk

We've just bought from this lot, excellent service and a very wide range of styles. I would imagine they could do you something bespoke if necessary.

Also have a look at Pooky

Oh thank you! That looks like a great store. Unfortunately they don’t seem to do anything bigger than 50cm either. I’ve just measured the old shade and it is 20cm x 75cm. I will go smaller if I have to, I guess ...
