Colour for sitting room

We've had all the walls and ceilings replastered throughout the house.
I'm stuck on what colour to use for the sitting room - it's open plan to the dining room which then leads off to the morning room and kitchen.
We have dark wood floors throughout so I wanted something light, I was thinking a very pale cream or pale yellow. DH wants duck egg which I think will be too dark. We have brown chesterfield sofas which I love, slightly beat up but so comfy.
Any suggestions?

Sours is Dulux ? hessian. It changes a lot during the day as the light changes.
I like it so much I painted it again during lockdown. I have never chosen the same colour a second time and my friend liked it so much she painted hers the same colour. It means you can change furnishings too.

Agree with Dulux Hessian, it's a great plain backdrop. Crushed Walnut is another great one, but sometimes can have violet hue depending on the light.
